upon rewatch, im really tempted to bump howls moving castle up to a 4/5. seeing the subbed version this time around was much better, and as a result i got more invested into the wonderful cast of characters and their story. however, its those last 25-ish minutes, man. its really messy in its execution, much more than miyazaki should be. not to mention how a couple of flaws from my first time viewing still remain, like the almost too nonsensical magic that can asspull our characters out of almost any situation. or the shaky tone, which jumps from an almost slice-of-life like comedy in one... read more
