IN BRIEF: Over and over, different people wake up in an amnesiac fugue in an old-fashioned Japanese bar, always in pairs. They're told by the bartender that they must play a game against each other, and that they cannot leave until they do; they always look for the nonexistent exits anyway. They jump to the logical conclusion that the loser of the game will be killed, and inevitably start playing with more or less enthusiasm. As the game progresses, their memories return, but how it happens, and why, is a mystery kept by the bartender...
