Story: 9

The main character Arima, a pianist is one of the best in Japan. Playing ever since he was little, almost having no time to go outside with friends to play. All to perfect his piano skills. People would call this young pianist a human metronome, a robot, and some referring him as his mother's puppet or her slave. It seems nothing can stop this pianist, until one tragic event occurs which leaves Arima so scarred that he can't play the piano. He just can't hear himself play the notes anymore. Arima calls this his curse. After 2 years of not playing the piano, Arima is introduced to a girl named Kaori who also plays, she is a violinist. She hears from others that he was one of the best pianist in Japan and she wants him to start playing the piano again. So after forcing him to enter a competition in which two player play their instruments, Arima realizes his curse is not gone. Will Kaori be able to break Arima's curse, or will this curse send Arima into another spiral.

Animation: 9

I'm not a fan of cg but when they do it right it's beautiful, just like in this anime.

Sound: 10

You can hear the pianos and violins just clear enough you feel like your at a concert.

Character: 9

All the characters are unique in this anime and add to the enjoyment of the anime.

Enjoyment: 10

Overall I did enjoy this anime a lot, I'm not one to cry while watching anime but this anime packed to the rim of drama managed to me make me shed tears in the moments involving Arima's mother and Kaori. I highly recommend you watch this anime, who knows you might also cry while watching.

I am a guy who really likes romance, action, sci-fi, and comedy... I highly recommend Haganai, Re:zero and Railgun, Rail gun S, Index l and index ll. I'm still one of those few people who still hope for a haganai 3.
