nowhere near as satisfying as the first; chiba's performance is not "full chiba", and there's too much of a reliance on elongated flashbacks (entire scenes basically) from the original and the whole thing just doesn't really gel in the same way. mostly it's just chiba holding back that has the same effect on the movie, though. he is the life blood of the street fighter. still, can't not get riled up when that theme song kicks in. read

more of the same, but not in a bad way. straightaway, the fight scenes crackle with a bit more oomph, showcasing some fantastic choreography. the plot is ridiculous, like its predecessor. neither amount to much. the stories in these movies are just a series of developments that simply happen, often in a vacuum of logic or thematic cohesion. but, really... who cares? i mean, shinichi chiba kicks ass. all the ass, apparently. this man is absolutely harassed, everywhere he goes! assassins, mafia thugs, cops- you name it. he's having to throw hands constantly. sometimes the action scenes are read

guys, this is a really bad movie. now, i know you may be thinking "of course it is, jeff. you saw the poster and read the title, right?" but get this: the first film was not a bad movie. there were a lot of reasons to enjoy it. but almost all those reasons do not apply to this film. yes, you're 6 beers deep and flipping through late night tv and come across this, you could do worse than rub it in your eyes. you could rub broken glass in your eyes, or angel dust. but you could also watch a real movie, or at least a much better b-grade movie. allow me to point out some issues that i would not... read
