It's not that it's bad, I just feel like I've seen this same movie 10 times in the past year. Let's just take a bit of a break on the 'assassin finds it harder to leave the business than anticipated' story for a bit or really anything with assassin's with a conscience. I'm glad she died in the end at least, I would have been very annoyed if they found some way to miraculously have her survive. read more

Kinda like the Netflix version of Prime Video's Without Remorse, although instead of harkening back to 90s action flicks, this bit of streaming fodder draws it's influence from good ol' John Wick. There's the standard story beats and plot twists for this kinda thing but it's also exactly what I wanted going in. Winstead does well with what she's given, enough for this to not feel completely soulless and generic. Miku Martineu gives her role, and in a sense the movie as a whole, a touch more humanity than you'd expect. Woody Harrelson delivers fine work as usual although it feels like the read more

Shoulda Worked but Didn't

The 2 main actors obviously tried really hard to make this a good movie and I really really wanted to like it. I normally love revenge action flicks but the language and the plot.... just awful. The plot makes me feel like i started watching in the middle. Then there is the fighting... don't get me wrong I'm no expert in fight movies however I found the fight scenes so incredibly boring. I made it 47 min in and just couldn't give a crap about any of the characters and couldn't get the energy to finish it

Not going to say this film is the greatest but Kate is the "Female John Wick" that should have been promoted instead of Atomic Blonde. Not that the latter was bad but it lacked the bloody grit that Kate has. Unfortunately for Kate it ended and we can't get more but what we do get is one of the sweetest action films to date. read more

O fato é que Kate do diretor Cedric Nicolas-Troyan (do assombroso O Caçador e a Rainha do Gelo) vem de um recente, mas já suficientemente longo costume da Netflix de realizar obras de ação estilizadas, mas um tanto genéricas. É dessa leva que surgiram The Old Guard e Power, por exemplo. Entretanto, se é possível sacar cada uma das viradas na narrativa logo nos primeiros minutos da obra, ao menos Troyan a realiza com estilo. Situar a narrativa no Japão, afinal, rende uma estética suficiente atraente ao espectador mais acostumado aos filmes... read more
