a been-there-done-that crime thriller by soderbergh set in the 1950's that's got the nuance and craft you'd expect from the director, a cast that's no less than superb, an underlying lens on an industry that flourished in the time period and yet it feels like a mid-season episode from a show, where we haven't had the time to get invested in any of the characters. don cheadle's character comes out with the most said about his past in the whole caper, if we can call it that, yet it doesn't feel enough for a commercial feature. don't get me wrong, i'd watch benicio del toro watching paint dry... read more
