watching this (for the first time) after the last scandalous year in hollywood and the rise of the me too movement sure made this an uncomfortable watch. i think i would still of felt uncomfortable watching it even if the last year hadn't happened but i sure couldn't get it out of my mind as the film unfolded. basically dean martin plays a suave rapist; ray walston plays a man who hires a prostitute to take place of his wife so martin can rape her instead. kim novak plays the prostitute who looks uncomfortable and sad and never wants to be left alone in the same room as martin. it really is... read more

one of those movies where the problematic elements are far outweighed by how insane and improbable it all is. i mostly know ray walston as "the old guy in 80's movies", but he (more than dean martin) embodies what that means within the movie. i wouldn't be surprised if his and cliff osmond's characters were envisioned to be giant cartoon mice or something. read more
