this is still one of my favourite superman graphic novels/film. the way superman accepts his inevitable demise with grace and doesn't lash out is wonderful. admittedly, he can be a bit pious too but when you're basically a god amongst mortals it's probably hard not to be. read

the only dcau film that moved me more than new frontier, i genuinely teared up a couple times in this. how many of these dc movies make you really feel something other than just excitement from the big action pieces? this is a throwback to the wildest and wackiest superman adventures of the silver age, and they actually made me believe that all this craziness was possible and not overpowering our man of tomorrow. instead of the typical writer's struggle of how to make superman relatable to an audience, they just make him cool. you aren't on superman's level, he's not an every-man substitute... read
