i remember reading about this remake and the extensive damage control the makers were putting out. "we're using practical effects" "we want to be respectful of the original but also tell the story of what happened before in an interesting way" "it all leads in to the original perfectly" the road to hell is paved with good intentions. i'm sure they started making this with the grand idea of paying a beautiful homage to the carpenter classic. sadly, for some reason they changed their minds and went down the cgi route. it's more depressing when you read fantastic articles like this. all that read more
