slightly better and funnier than this year's icy offering. at least this willful princess gets to choose her own fate, and gets her overbearing mother into trouble instead. read more

the most disney-esque pixar film yet. not a bad thing in this case however as i thought the film was great. once again pixar have increased the quality of their imagery in so many ways. whilst the story wasn't anything original it was still a great story and fun to watch play out. read more

it isn't one of pixar's best, but it is still an above average animated film. it was a nice balance of comedy and drama that features a bear doing charades and some touching moments about the importance of family. read more

i felt like this movie was really funny and the plot was mostly pretty good. things were well paced with exciting twists and problems that the characters had to solve. my biggest problem with it was merida and her mom. i just thought they were both kind of annoying and selfish the whole time, so i didn't really want to root for them. also, merida could have avoided all of her problems by not using a spell with unknown effects on her mom. i mean seriously, what if it was poisonous!? overall not a super moving disney pixar film read more

Unruly daughter of a royal Scottish highlands couple gets more than she expects when she asks a witch to help her change her mother's attitude. Lush landscapes and colourful design pop out from this unusually (and pleasantly) darker Pixar production that successfully evades plot predictability. Way underrated when first released. read more
