21 Jump Street

for their first live action film, phil lord and chris miller decided to adapt the 80's tv show 21 jump street into a modern day film version. just like cloudy with a chance of meatballs, what they did turned out to be so much better than anyone ever expected. starring jonah hill and channing tatum, this movie plays out almost like a romantic comedy loaded with action but instead of a man and a women it's two male cops who are partners. and let me tell you it is hilarious. it's self referential at parts, absurd at others, trippy in some spots, laugh out loud and die laughing throughout. there... read more

a nice surprise of a film. this could have easily been another cash in on a vaguely remembered tv series that everyone knows the name of. instead it was a funny film that did not take itself the slightest bit seriously. it even found time to poke fun at movie tropes such as cars exploding when shot or crashing. i'm quite looking forward to 22 jump street. i'm fully aware it's probably more of the same, for once that's probably a good thing. read more
