Day Shift is a really pleasant surprise! Sure, it isnt a masterpiece but its decent. This is exactly how a Netflix film should be! Not expensive all star action movies that end up being mediocre. This film is not big in scope, its just a small movie about hunting vampires. Jamie Foxx did really well here! I feel he should be putting his future on Netflix, as Project Power was a hit when he had a film there last time. Special mention here to Dave Franco! Nice to see a film borrow the "hidden-in-plain-sight organisation of trained assassins" from John Wick rather than the much more worn "veteran badass unretires". Jamie Foxx is a great lead, Franco plays off him fairly well as the comic relief, Snoop is just kinda hanging out but then it is a hangout movie and he does wear some great outfits, and of course it's always good to see Peter Stormare play a greaseball. The action here is tightly choreographed and brutal, if you like horror comedies or buddy action movies then this is probably a no-brainer. read more
