The story definitely went over my head on this one. Rating is pretty much solely because Joaquin Phoenix and Philip Seymour Hoffman can make me feel any emotion whether or not I know why. Gotta watch an explainer video and revisit this at some point. read more

I wish I could have immersed myself into it more fully because I feel like the overarching story of loneliness and purposelessness is very strong here and it's obviously a wonderfully crafted movie both behind and in front of the camera, however some scenes are definitely stronger than others.
