i'm not really in awe of anno's talent as a creative, but his love for these classic franchises definitely comes across because he is only catering to his own dweeby self. so might as well let him keep doing this until forever rather than some hired hand. i don't know what was wrong with cameras in japan in the 2000s, but just about every movie looks worse than it should. like they're all just cheap tv shows. anno manages to offset this somewhat by at least making the colors pop, and a couple of dynamic action set pieces that use digital fx, but in a way where it's stylized to look as far read more

My quick rating - 5;7/10. This movie is just so cutesy and quirky. Very silly in nature as the viewer follows a superhero-ish woman fighting the forces of the evil "sister jill" and his gang of "claw" goons. It is so over the top and the manga that it was made from; which I have never read or seen; is supposed to be something that never should be made into a live action flick. But they did and pulled off the over the top bizarre all powerful necklace wearing super model hero for us all to laugh at.
