not taken in at all by this franchise, a waste of liam's acting skills. some of the scenery of istanbul's narrow streets and bazaars were interesting. besson could not have scripted this, the dialogue was just dismal, especially compared to the brilliant taxi series and the gritty district 13. read more

i keep wanting to call this director olivier "megatron", and i think that's my sub-conscious registering him as a world-destroying villain. the fact is, megaton doesn't have the chops to helm a compelling action film, at least not for my tastes. this isn't a horrible movie, but for the cast and money they had, this could easily have been a 5-star actioner. but like he did with the transporter sequel, and the (unofficial) sequel to leon: the professional, megaton bursts in like a tweaking meth addict, taking decent writing and good performances and turning it into a spasmodic, read more
