are you looking for a movie that features copious amounts of boobies? hookers that (mostly) have a heart of gold? academy award winning actress melissa leo showing her jubblies? vengeful pimps that punch women in the face? t'n'a? well then streetwalkin' is for you. pretty much a generic roger corman flick about a runaway who ends up meeting and falling in love with a pimp who is sex, violent, crazy and hella violent and he of course turns our runaway into a hooker. this movie has lots to like. melissa leo delivers a fine (but not yet oscar worthy performance, lots of cute women in skimpy clothing, julie newmar hamming it up in a leotard, melissa leo baring almost all, excessive violence mostly courtesy of dale midkiff (who shockingly gives a much better performance than his very wooden one in pet semetary) and a solid story (that was completely copied by the corman film angel in red only 6 years later-- like identical!!) that never bores. i had a great time with this film. sure some acting sucks, some editing could use some work, some music sounds very dated and nothing here screams originality but it is still fun to watch. this is due to melissa leo, dale midkiff's unhinged performance and of course the copious amount of breasts on display. better than angel in red for these reasons as well as this is the same version, by way of miami vice styling. if you had to pick between the two, i'd go with this one, hands down!! production design: 7 out of 10 cinematography: 7 out of 10 re-playability: 7 out of 10 originality: 6 out of 10 costumes: 8 out of 10 directing: 7 out of 10 editing: 7 out of 10 acting: 6 out of 10 music: 7 out of 10 script: 7 out of 10 69/100
