The East

i really wanted to like the east more than i did. it's a well-acted and shot film that has a great premise and a lot of good plot moments. brit marling, who also co-wrote the film with director zal batmanglij, is fantastic in the lead role; if she isn't a known star in the next couple of years it will because she chooses not to be or because hollywood isn't smart enough to capitalize. alexander skarsgård, ellen page and particularly, shiloh fernandez and particularly toby kebbell are all well-acquitted by their performances as the anarchist collective members while patricia clarkson makes a... read more
