J. Edgar

a tale that seemed like it should not have been told. a long-drawn biopic that jumps too much back and forth between life stages and political contexts. the lindbergh kidnapping was an interesting sideplot and probably should've been a movie in its own right. ultimately, eastwood tries to portray edgar in as many facets as his controversial reputation has amassed, but stops short of giving any answers. the acting was generally good, but i would be hesitant in recommending this movie. for better dic(r)ap performances i'd be more inclined to rewatch inception and the aviator, or perhaps even... read more
