chris hemsworth plays quite possibly the most easily hateable character to ever grace the screen in james hunt. just look at him. look at his face, his smile, ugh doesn't it make your blood boil with rage? yes it does, replies niki lauda, and a sports movie rivalry is born! i love me a good movie rivalry, i love goon, i love catch me if you can, and everyone loves wrath of khan. there's something about a two person face off that's endlessly fascinating, despite essentially every one of those stories being about how people throw their lives away in this singular, petty pursuit. a smart flick... read more

loved bruhl's well-accented exclamations throughout this atmospheric, octane-fumed ride. boy, can thor talk, and much more, drive... haven't seen such well-paced, accurately-detailed historic storytelling in a while -- aptly named. a sobering reminder of the risky world of formula one, its larger than life rivalries, and the people (not machines) who have to live with (or die by) consequences. wishing a speedy recovery to bianchi and schumi at this point. read more
