i've heard that this was bad, i've read that it was bad and i've never heard anything good said about it (other than the reviews on the cover). i bought it on vlu ray. why? well i was in the dollar tree and there it was, brand new, for $1.25. how could i say no?
so i started watching it and you know what it was intriguing. a man is in witness protection and decides to go back home for the girl he loves (who just got a job there). that's a cool premise and i thought 'this isn't going to be that bad'.
but then the story gets going and there were so many things that didn't work. taking away the fact that the film was uneventful, unfunny for a comedy, badly shot at times, unexciting and rather lackluster there were many other things wrong.
for example bradley cooper. he's not bad in the movie but his character was lame. he was a really weak bad guy and with the snap of the fingers, he's out of the movie. another example is the ridiculous story that really seems unrealistic and is peppered with so much boring car chases that only 50% of the time look any good. then there is tom arnold's acting abilities, the less said the better. and dax shepard kind of sucks. kristen bell is great and adorable but why would she stay with this man who lied to her after she finds out who he really is? it felt unrealistic but more importantly it felt dumb.
in the end the film wasn't really worth the $1.25 i paid for it but it was only $1.25 so no big loss. and it's not the worst film i have ever seen, that's a positive too no? and i believe that to really know a good from a bad one you need to watch good and bad films so that you know the difference so at least hit & run helped me with my beliefs?
