a tad too disjointed and without the help of any background reminders, i was totally lost though we did watch part 1, which felt like years ago. the romantic tension was totally confusing for me, as i had no idea why she was flipping back and forth between gale & peeta. ultimately, i'm glad that the franchise ended, though this movie does have its moments, such as the creepy blackpool. read

turns out the hunger games is an alright film series. im not going to be rushing to watch it again but i cant say ill never watch it again. i guess if i wanted a more brutal version id watch battle royale but this was a reasonably enjoyable watch. some of the traps did make me go “holy shit!” but the effect was tempered by the rating. ive enjoyed watching the series and eating too much takeaway at the same time. read

Not as good as Part One, but it was never going to be. Mockingjay Part Two is as subtle as a brick, which is fine for the most part, because it's pretty much the perfect thematic summation of the entire franchise. It's nice to see a series take itself to the logical endpoint, and then actually end. read
