i had a great time watching this. the tone was so perfect and it was silly in a confident way. unfortunately i knew the live action section was coming which slightly ruined it but overall it didn't affect my viewing experience. i can't decide if i want a sequel or not. read more

I don't like the term guilty pleasure. It's generally used for liking forms of entertainment considered to be lesser, out of the cultural norm. However, The Lego Movie is, for me, my first true guilty pleasure. It's a giant fucking commercial that pretends to be anti-business and pro-creativity, but neglects to mention that Lego hasn't been about genuine creativity in decades. Hence, the fact that I enjoy the movie itself so much, makes me feel guilty. The movie IS a sweet tribute to creativity, the movie IS a hilarious deconstruction of consumerism, but the reason most people went to see it... read more
