it's been some time since i watched vhs but i've been looking forward to this. it didn't disappoint on the fucked up scale. these are the films to watch if you like gore, jumps and crazy ideas. i've watched the trailer for vhs: viral but i'm not sure if that looks as good. i'll have to find out i guess. read more

that's it; it's official. i love gareth evans. i fucking love him. he is an amazing filmmaker and officially i will now see anything he does. his sense of action and visuals and gore and pacing and story and acting is just top notch. which is why v/h/s 2 gets a higher rating then the first one. in fact, this film would have an even higher rating if it was just evans's segment but it's not so it does lower the rating a bit, but mostly this review is based on his piece. quickly, the rest of the film is mostly as good as the first film. the wraparound story works better this time and when they... read more

film 56 of obligatory october of horror looks like it's time to break out the anthology ratings again. let's start with the (unnamed?) framing story. pretty much only exists to string together the various shorts. that really holds it back so it's comparatively weak. 4/10 phase 1 clinical trials i've definitely read a story or two with this exact premise but i don't know if those stories came out before or after this so i'm unsure on the originality part of this. essentially a modern/near future take on a classic haunted house story. it's alright, i guess? if it's an original idea it's cool,... read more

My quick rating - 5;4/10. Definitely the best of the bunch. Same basic idea; couple goes through a bunch of vhs tapes that are "found" each telling a different story of terror. Couple good segments and a couple shitty ones. That about sums it up. If you want to see what the VHS hype was all about; between the 3; watch this one or wait until I stop being lazy and edit all 3 into one movie lol read more

Pretty much same as the first where this movie is made up of short films some were ok,some just crazy.scare factor = 5,gore factor = 8 Was not very much into this or its predecessor hopefully the coming third one will be better."Safe Haven" was probably the most goriest for me,horror fans should mostly like this. read more

Rispetto al primo capitolo qui ci troviamo su un altro livello. Molta più violenza gore e soprattutto trame davvero belle e coinvolgenti. L'idea di avere dei cortometraggi singoli piace sempre ma ormai l'idea delle VHS è superata dopo il primo film (come idea).Quindi ho valutato solo i singoli tapes. Davvero belli. Uno migliore dell'altro. Film sicuramente imperfetto però intrattiene! Da vedere anche evitando il primo capitolo! read more

On the trail of a disappeared man, a private investigator and his girlfriend break into the same house as from the first film, and once more they watch a series of disconnected incidents documented by the participants. Almost a replica of the first in terms of how the stories are 'framed', V/H/S 2 starts lukewarm with a story about a man who has a eye implant. However, it does pick up, the second story about a biker whom crosses paths with the undead whilst on a woodland ride is entertaining and amusing as its told from the viewpoint of a zombie.
