film #22 of hooptober 3.0: the quickening leave it to renny harlin to take a fascinating real-life mystery like the 1959 dyatlov pass incident and turn it into a dull film that manages to be both uninspired and ridiculously loopy all at the same time. devil's pass is a completely by-the-numbers found footage horror film that essentially mashes up the blair witch project and the terrible (non-found footage) the chernobyl diaries, then shoehorns them into the dyatlov incident. vikram weet's script has all the typical flaws of the found footage genre from uninteresting characters and filming read more

i like a found footage movie with poorly motivated and unclear rationales for csmwrs placements. bonus points for terrible cg. read more

I'll always be shocked by the bad reviews this movie gets. It has it's scary elements, along with a twist ending that I never saw coming. It reminds me of the 'Blair Witch Project' except it's not found footage. read more
