there's three things consistent across this series. 1. milla jovovich 2. constant retconning 3. an inability to be coherent supposedly picking up where it left off the last time. no idea if that's correct because i couldn't be bothered to watch them all again to find out. i mean, it looks nice but characters seemed entirely different to what i remembered. suddenly everyone is a fucking clone. i've got to admire their attempts at a facade of consistency but we all know it's bullshit and that they've made it up on the spot and tried to make it all fit. glad it's finished. 2 years until it all... read more

the crazy editing (in conjunction with the score) actually almost kinda worked at spicing up the lifeless acting and dramatic moments but during action it's just too much. at-least there's no slow-mo over-reliance... honestly not as bad as afterlife (not as boring) but still very predictable and plenty of plot contradictions to previous installments. characters not treated with the time and respect needed, yet again. i found it particularly silly regarding wesker. new characters are attempted to be made relevant but remain disposable. horror elements are mostly jump-scares. i found them read more

limp ending to a long-ass series. the plot is unmentionable, indescribable and indistinguishable, but the visuals and action choreography are bad too. shaky cam, frantic cuts, just shit editing that needs to be burned in a firestorm like in that desert-based resident evil that i can't remember the title of - which also wasn't good, and it has been awhile since re didn't suck, but i had hope for the last one. milla jovovich is still super watchable, but the movie built around her drags her down and sucks all the fun out - kinda like that fan, the one that ended up killing a character in a read more
