I watched this last night and had an absolute blast with it. Even if you take Kingsman only at face value and see it purely as a riff on Bond movies, it works incredibly well. Matthew Vaughan brings such verve and energy to his scenes that it's difficult not to be caught up in the flow and I love the little touches, such as the way he uses a snow globe in a London flat to shift scenes to a remote frozen mountain. Jane Goldman also deserves due credit for her script, which is a lot sharper than many others which have tried to do the same thing. I've never read the comic on which this based read more

This. Movie. Is. Bonkers. It is such a good spy action comedy. That's such a specific description, but that's exactly what it is. It's great as an action movie, a spy movie, and a comedy. The cast is great, with Samuel L. Jackson and Mark Strong probably being my favorites. And the church scene? BONKERS. It's the most amazing, insane, and offensive thing I've ever watched. James Bondish veteran super-spy trains a promising but still rough young rookie into service. A good fun movie,its almost like a not so serious James Bond complete with the odd profanity.A good cast including Colin Firth,Samuel L.Jackson,Mark Strong and Michael Caine but the main actor is newcomer Taron Egerton.Lots of special effects,good locations and some funny moments.Sam Jackson really enjoyed his role I could tell.This film rated highly and I can see why,I believe a sequel is already in the works. read more
