Non-Stop

who the fuck watched this and didn't know instantly who the protaganist was? the second they appeared on screen it was if they had an arrow pointing at their face screaming "this motherfucker is going to fuck shit up!". because of this there was a desperate lack of tension, mystery or interest. not even the wonderful julianne moore could keep me in the slightest bit engaged. i can't be bothered to look up who the writer was but they clearly aren't human as nobody acted in any normal, rational way. not that this really matters as the plot is barely existent and what's there is bobbins. read more

a white knuckle thrill ride that is very entertaining and at the same time completely ridiculous. non-stop will keep you guessing till the very end about who is responsible and what is going on even though by the time it ends it doesn't make a lick of sense. the performances and direction are solid. the effects pretty good and the cinematography lush and gritty. serra does a good job of creating paranoia in the film as right from the start every face and every person seems suspicious. the more i think about non-stop the less and less any of it makes sense or seems logical but none the less... read more

jaume collet-serra's non-stop is a diverting-enough thriller with a solid set-up and an mind-numbingly stupid final act. the action thriller, which stars liam neeson as a traumatized air marshal who finds himself at 30,000 feet with a mysterious killer on board, has some great elements to it but there's just too much weighing it down to really fly. neeson is perfectly acceptable as bill marks, and he carries the weariness well. this is a standard neeson action role and there's nothing wrong with that. the rest of the cast (julianne moore, lupita nyong'o, michelle dockery, anson mount, corey... read more
