when you want to make a feel good story, a rags to riches story, a story about home and heart and where home is, a story of the underdog taking the lead, then this is how you do it. there are so many movies out there that follow this formula so when you set out to make a movie in that vein you need to do it better than most before you or else you will be left in the dust. follow mcfarland's lead and you'll have a winner on your hands. in a film like this you want to have characters you can route for. mcfarland takes its time to set up the characters and the set-up and it never shortchanges... read
