the wedding ringer has a few genuinely laugh-worthy moments, which is honestly more than i expected. kevin hart and josh gad have a surprising amount of chemistry and while they're playing typecast roles in a film that tries to get by on its crassness, they work off each other very well. unfortunately they don't have a script that does them justice. the premise is interesting enough, but at its core it is a slight variation on the much better hitch. the film relies on some gross-out antics to try and get laughs, but it is the interplay between hart and gad which actually draw humor. the read more
