this is the 8th part of the 'liam neeson has balls' franchise and out of all eight films, this is the worst. the original taken was fun and gritty and introduced the world to neeson's balls. the second one was fun and gritty, very unoriginal but well made. this one is none of the above. this film contains a fun performance from neeson and whitaker and grace and company, and gets the job done in parts with it's action and neeson's balls but that's about it. there is just too much wrong with this film. like this: - how did neeson know the escape route in the garage? - how did he survive all the falls in the car? (it's like the saturday morning serials that drove annie wilks crazy) - it's pg-13 so thre is basically no blood which really doesn't work here (like a throat slashed with no blood... come on?) - the editing sucks, the music is meh, the camerawork could be better, the script is terrible - no one gets taken here which is a good thing but then suddenly people do and it becomes generic - the whole movie is very predictable - neeson is framed for a murder and in the process of running away and trying to clear his name he kills tons of people and the cops at the end just let him walk? i love the liam neeson has balls franchise and look forward to the next new installment every year but this one just sucked... production design: 6 out of 10 cinematography: 5 out of 10 re-playability: 4 out of 10 originality: 2 out of 10 costumes: 1 out of 10 directing: 4 out of 10 editing: 4 out of 10 acting: 7 out of 10 music: 6 out of 10 script: 3 out of 10 42/100
