miss meadows problem is that it never knows what it wants to be. karen leigh hopkins strange, quirky tale of a prim schoolteacher/vigilante sets a darkly comic tone with its opening scene, a strong thematic statement where it likens its titular character to a gun-toting, take-no-prisoners snow white. its bizarre and yet it works, letting katie holmes tap dance away from a would-be rapist sitting dead in his car on the street. but hopkins then throws the film into a whirlwind of clashing tones. at one moment its a serious character drama, trying to explore what could lead a woman to do read more
