quick hit: i mean, monster trucks isn't the worst thing ever. it's a middling, unoriginal and by the numbers "forget-it-by-next-month" family film that contains so no real fun or quality to it but is blandly semi-passable. it's the kind of thing that you would expect to have been made in the 1990s, when casting people as old as lucas till & jane levy as teenagers was a viable thing and pg-rated villains didn't need to be anything more than complete caricatures -- no surprise when you learn the film concept was literally created by a four year-old. so on a critical level, it's just an... read more
