Review of A Hard Day

would have been better as a shorter movie. it is not an issue of pacing, which is good; it is the one extra twist which is not only unnecessary (the movie's ending would have been the same regardless) but also shark jumping, leading to an interminable, ridiculous, reality-shattering fight. if only the movie hadn't felt the need to cram this in when it was already more than 90 minutes long... it is by no means the only dubious moment though, but the others can be excused by the needs of the intentionally over-the-top events. (pulling a body in a room through the vents, and in a matter of minutes to boot, comes to mind.) and the villain does come off as a tad too able at some points, but nothing close to the terminator in the finale. written and directed by kim seong-hun who only had one previous movie, in 2006. i would watch his next one, especially if it was shorter or written by someone else.
