the jungle book has pretty much perfect cinematography, effects ad editing, it's got near perfect direction and voice casting and it's one hell of an entertaining film that could most probably be watched over and over again. it features many things from the disney cartoon (i only know bits of it but the bits that i do know were all here) and it features, obviously, parts of the book, i haven't read the book so i wouldn't know how much. it's a great movie but i am baffled as i think no one but me saw what i am about to say. i mean i researched this on the net and found nothing, no one read more

this is disney again trying to innovate, with lots of inclusions good and bad. the good being the villain, who is intimidating. the bad being that is too intimidating. letme explain in the silence of the lambs, hannibal lecter was really scary, because the story was about serial killers. in the jungle book is about goofy songs and things like that what i am saying is that is trying too much to be dramatic, and altough it suceseds at times, it has that goofy and funny charm that kinda ruins the other. i think the original jungle book was dark so i think is a good decision, but this was not read more

this is a true cgi milestone. mowgli's portrayal could've been stronger. his scenes that were meant to be emotional/dramatic fell flat. the music and sound direction were done well. there are only two musical segments and they don't overstay their welcome. due to their brevity, they don't detract from the immersion of the film. read more

it's not bad, but it's far from great. updating this classic with added realism just didn't 100% work for me. character motivations are a bit too simple; applying human logic to animals feels self-aggrandising; and songs seem more out of place. the kid who plays mowgli is rough, too. like, straight out of a damon wayans sitcom rough. read more

Don't play with fire, kids. I went into this one with mild expectations, to say the least, but was pleasantly surprised. While the remaking of old classics is generic and uninspired, this film is actually an improvement on its predecessor. Being far more immersive and touching, while holding true to its light-hearted spirit and touchy core. read more

ich musste leider mal wieder feststellen, dass ich die verdammten bilder nicht aus dem kopf bekommen habe... die verdammten bilder, in denen ich mir vorgestellt habe, wie der arme junge alleine von einem greenscreen zum nächsten greenscreen springt...hier kamen mindestens 90% des gezeigten aus dem computer und das wirkt leider doch noch an vielen stellen befremdlich...und das obwohl man hier die vermutlich besten cgi-tiere zu sehen bekommt, die es im jahr 2016 gibt. auch, dass sie alle sprechen wirkt irgendwie...seltsam; genau wie die verwurstung der altbekannten "dschungelbuchlieder" in read more

Befriended by a panther and raised by wolves, orphaned "man cub" Mowgli is threatened out of the jungle by a man-eating tiger.
