Heaven Knows What

an extremely well made film about the life of drug addicts on the streets of new york. does it break any new ground? not really. i'm not sure what ground there is to break. this film does what it sets out to do pretty well. it's gritty and tough throughout. this isn't an enjoyable film but it is rewarding in certain ways. the central performance here is outstanding. arielle holmes carries the film with her screen presence. she doesn't do much but her performance gives the film an edge that it perhaps would not have if it got a different perfomrance at the center of the film. i'm intrigued to... read more
