Cartel Land

in terms of footage, editing, production values in general, it deserves all the praise. the topic is excellent too, and so is the neutral take on it. but is it? neutral. in a documentary, a neutral stance, an objective position, a lack of message are definitely not faults. but a neutral take on events does not make for that; there is also the aspect of what is included in the final product. and this is where cartel land is more iffy. i'd understand presenting the situation on the border on the us side if it related to the main subject, but this is not what the documentary does. read more
