an amazing film about a man's faith in the midst of war. it perfectly shows his courage, bravery and faith. andrew garfield did a wonderful performance portraying as desmond doss. he was really great. seeing what doss had to go through and how he handled it was really something. he never have up and stood by his beliefs. the battle sequences depicted war in such a realistic way. it was very brutal and scary. there's some heavy stuff like guts, blood and limbs. these were some of best war sequences i've seen in a long time. the soundtracks and sound design was incredible. everything about this... read more

ein brett von film! man hat viel gutes vorher gehört, doch dass der film so gut ist, hätte ich mir niemals ausgemalt. großartige bilder treffen auf emotionale momente und eine packende story (lediglich die extrem herausstechende cgi artillerie reißt mich in einigen momenten aus dem seherlebnis). einzig der fakt, dass es kein "wohlfühlfilm" ist, den ich mir jederzeit angucken kann, verhindert hier die volle punktzahl und stellt den unterschied zu meinen lieblingsfilmen dar. read more

Mel Gibson delves back into war stories again as Director and has done a great job of this true story about conscientious objector who refuses to use a gun during the Battle of Okinawa. Andrew Garfield plays Desmond Doss and has researched his character very well. There is quite a lot of religion featured in this but it is a big part of the story. I did find it a bit unrealistic towards the end and am not sure if that actually happened that way or its Hollywoodised. Worth seeing read more

I'm NOT a fan of war movies as I believe they're always the same thing, but something just felt different about this one. It follows Desmond Doss, a Christian who will not hold a gun let alone kill people with one. Not only does it show us the hero this man was, but it opens peoples eyes to the importance of medics. One of Andrew Garfields best acting performances. read more

At the release date of this, there's a poster of this movie with it's rating all over the poster. Since then, part of me always wanted to watch this movie. Fortunately now I have seen it and I'm Regretting it for not watching it before.... The first thing I gotta say is, about the performance of Andrew Garfield.. He literally lived in that character ❤️❤️.. His innocence acting can make any grown men cry... There's a lotta places where I cried for❤️... Never thought the movie would be this good... Showing the real life characters at the end credits is even more making me respectful for this... read more
