i don't get the call of duty comparisons. i mean, beyond the basic concept of the first person point of view, and shooting stuff... there's no similarities. i mean, i realize that basic concept was probably the entire point of comparison, but still. hardcore henry has more originality and personality than that comparison gives it credit for. i should put it out there right now that i really don't like call of duty. there's so many better first person shooter games out there, and if hardcore henry was a game, it'd be one of those better games. it's so mercilessly energetic and relentlessly... read more

i think to really enjoy this movie, you have to understand it plays out just like a typical first-person shooter video game, where storytelling doesn't really make sense and all the action sequences are over the top. add that to the attempt for full immersion and you get a pretty good non-interactive fps game. i'll admit the camera work can be wonky at certain parts, but i think it really plays into the full immersive experience and i honestly felt like i was "playing" a real first-person action game. in full honesty, i actually really liked the movie as a whole, even with a story that makes... read more

Initially I was very excited for the film since I had first heard of it. Although I was quite cautious of seeing a film almost entirely in first person.  The film is nonstop action. The story is there but I feel the main focus or solid points is the action. The story is just kind of in the background. Which has its ups and downs.  It's a fairly common storyline, love interest kidnapped, knight in shining armor (main character) is fighting to get her back. My quick rating - 6;7/10. Rated before; still the same. Lots of high octane action and fun of first person. Just needed a better story. Thing to add; I put this on my phone and I am definitely going to try it with my VR headset. Seems like it would work just perfectly even without the 3D. We'll see. read more
