this is the third time i have watched this and i still love it the same as when i did the first time. a truly worthy prequel that we all deserved, it had minor faults but those were negligible. most importantly it fixed one of the most significant plot hole of tnh and reminded us why darth vader is one of the greatest villain of all time. the things i most missed here were the crawl and 20th century fox fanfare. 8/10 read more

this is a rare film for me. i enjoyed it even more on the second viewing. absolutely stand out. so damned good. it's made me even more excited about everything star wars. i hope this level of quality is retained going forward. i heard all the set reports about there being problems with the edit etc. who the fuck cares if the end result as great as this. this is a high bar to be setting for the first film outside of the main series. read more

some people are saying this is the second best or third best star wars film. i disagree, in my opinion it sits tied for 4th with jedi, although jedi gets the slight edge for it's nostalgia nd mazing first hour (and the final duel with darth and luke). rogue one is a stand alone film, although not really. it details the plans to steal the death star plans and the tells the story of the people who managed to do so. it links directly to a new hope and has so many cameos and nods to a new hope that it really isn't so stand alone. the cameos were awesome and i will leave them for you to be read more

the story of how the rebels got the death star plans, and it was pretty good. definitely a different type of star wars movie that was a lot darker than expected, but it makes sense in the current time frame of the rebellion. there are some weird scenes that don't entirely fit in, but what an impressive cameo by darth vader, literally killing it in both scenes. read more
