The Visitor in the Eye

only my third ohbayashi afer hausu and drifting classroom. i really want to watch more of his movies this year, but visitor in the eye was kind of a false start. i'm a big tezuka fan, yet black jack isn't something i've read an awful lot of. i know the gist and the fact it's episodic, and this movie sure feels like it was adapted from at best two of those episodes, which is just too flimsy. it's a good looking movie, there's more etsuko shihomi than i thought, and i appreciate the focus not being too much on the one-dimensional black jack character (really did not expect joe shishido... read more
