Saroo is an Indian boy who lost his family. Although he was been adopted by a good family who loved him and had a better live than in India, he never forgot his mother or his brother Gudo. This story is about real love than time can´t destroy. read moreWas this review helpful to you?

lion is a great little film about a boy searching for his mother in another country after being separated for 20 years or so. it stars nicole kidman, rooney mara, dev patel and a whole slew of indian actors. it's a real feel good tear jerker of a film and it will tug at your heart strings like many an oscar best picture style nominee will. it is filled with great performances, great cinematography, a stellar indian influenced score and a great true story. it is a movie that is impossible to not like. it is a film that will teach you the power of resilience, the power of the human heart, the... read

wouldn't be oscar season without some expensive india poverty porn. incredible as a true story but the movie spends its entire runtime building am image of indian inequity to contrast with western success and opportunity (and not even slightly examining the causes therein). half a star goes toward dev patel being very good looking, i'll give it that. read

Based on the memoir "A Long Way Home" by Saroo Brierley, "Lion" gets us acquainted with adorable newcomer Sunny Pawar as it spends the best part of an hour following little Saroo's dangerous path towards adoption, then it abruptly fast forwards to the moment when adulthood (and the discovery Google Earth) suddenly sparks the determination of the protagonist to find his way home.
