local law enforcement is called in to deal with an unruly gang before they cause a full-scale riot in the city. the gang leader recently got the death penalty, and there are fears he'll be used as a martyr to stir up his followers that have yet to be arrested. when his body is stolen right out from under the nose of local police, the detective has to follow the clues to track down the rest of the gang and locate the stolen body... before the city boils over. anchoring the story of jesus christ's death in a very modern-influenced crime procedural is no stretch by me. it's a clear intention of... read more

I was quite surprised by this movie. I expected one of these History/National Geographic type re-enactment movies but this was definitely written for the big screen. Starring Joseph Fiennes as a Roman tasked with finding out what happened to Jesus after his tomb is discovered empty. Fiennes gives a great performance of a man struggling with his loyalties and beliefs. Wether its accurate or not doesn't matter as its still an enjoyable flick that will be even enjoyed by non religious people. read more
