quick hit: i honestly don't have a lot to say about this movie, which has a couple clever lines and good performances from eiza gonzalez and guy pearce but is otherwise a cheap-looking, poorly shot mess. i'm honestly only doing a review for this one to say that i don't think i've ever seen a film work so hard to establish stakes for its lead character and then just casually toss them out the window at the end. that's almost impressive. but then, this is co-written by jeff wadlow, who is quickly becoming one of my least favorite writers working in hollywood. better luck next time, read more

I'm trying to imagine how good this could have been if basically the entire cast was different. You tellin me, we're in a world where you can create a supersoldier in a universal soldier kind of way and a 53 year old Vin Diesel is what you'd consider the best of the best??? It's sad too because there are actually some cool ideas in this that kept me engaged, but the one liners delivered by Diesel were done so bad, only someone like Arnold could probably make them work. It felt flavourless, I mean the trailer blew me but those shots you see in the trailer, yeah they used all the best shots they had in the trailer. They could've done so much with that power it was like that game prototype meets robocop, so that's that. Although they're very good and cool and stuff I'll give it that, the story was not weak it had a good twist but as a whole bloodshot being a superhero character its..goofy and childish on the use of technology and it's a small universe too so no future hope for it. My quick rating - 5;6/10. Ok; I'll preface this with the fact that I am a Vin Diesel fan. Have been since "Pitch Black" but not going to let that bias this. I expected much more. The comic was very good; he is a good action star. How could you go wrong? First; have a decent idea for the story; and play it out as secondary and not fully develop it. That is a start. Here we have another comic book movie that hasn't transferred well into film. If you have seen Diesels other movies like Pitch Black, Riddick etc then you don't really have to see this one, its pretty much the same. This is obviously designed to pull in some of the Marvel followers who might be hungry for more action. Heavily reliant on CGI which doesn't look that good here. Not much in action or blood for those fans so this one I would recommend as a pass on it. read more

Diesel is Ray Garrison in this tepid superhero action movie based on a comic of the same name, out to avenge the murder of his wife by ruthless killers. That he is a soldier who was killed in the line of duty and brought back to life with a variety of augmented enhancements is not anything we have not seen many times before, and Bloodshot offers next to nothing to an overcrowded genre.
