black comedy and horror comedy are among of my favorite genres, and i've seen good stuff coming from down south. i haven't seen the director's previous movies so i had no expectations, which proved to be a good thing because i was surprised by the confident execution and the good acting. the first part is not a horror at all, except the real life horror of douchebaggery and crumbling relationships. in fact, it all turns to horror quite suddenly, a twist into the completely bonkers, only made palatable by fionnula flanagan's acting. it's a delight, but utterly surreal. i give it props for read more
