this is the second time i've watched this and i was utterly blown away by it. björk's performance is amazing and i was completely spellbound all the way through. not the cheeriest of movies right enough, but so full of hope at the end. i think that björk's choice as the main character of this film is one of the many successes of lars when it come to direct this movie . although i have never been very fan of dogma 95 premises, i think that in "dancer in the dark" it gives it a very important dramatic charge that is also certainly helped by the musical part to reduce the drama charge of certain moments that would otherwise be unbearably painful. i consider it a masterpiece whose premises are still in force today; money-controlled societies where people faithful to their principles have no place. read more
