Dracula

This was not a movie I expected to hold up as well as it does. I can probably count the movies made before ~1935 that I find enjoyable and worth watching on one hand, and this is one of them. Not afraid to go all-in on its atmosphere, it's deliciously dramatic and sinister, feeling like an art piece in its direct direction, letting you soak in the vibes. The story it's inherited is compelling, though unfortunately the pacing and progression leave the latter half much less atmospherically rich than the former. Still, it's well worth watching for the iconic imagery alone.
