ocean's twelve is a film that is incredibly fun to watch. it's got style, humour, grace, panache, an incredibly high enjoyment factor and a stellar returning cast but at the same time the story is very week and brings down the film. soderbergh directs this film, and does his usual great job and the cast is awesome. together they are what make this film so fn. i laughed, i laughed more and i was entertained the whole way through. it was even more entertaining than the first one in my opinion. but the story was a let down. it was dumb. it didn't really make sense and it was filled with to many twists and contrivances that don't add up. a thief with an ego wants to better the ocean's eleven so he devises a plan and game to do so. a detective is after the theives but her dad was a thief and she is in love with a thief. when everyone gets arrested it turns out it was the plan all along even though the dialogue and the events that occurred before hand don't make this make sense and then it makes the whole movie kind of pointless. andy garcia finds all the men that stole from him and he doesn't do anything to them except ask for his money back and then the whole ocean's crew is like 'okay, let's steal something so we can give him his money back'. the heists were over elaborate and boarding on parody. so the plot and the events are pretty bad in this film but still, that aside, it's damn fun and it all comes down to the cast. they are awesome and hilarious and make this dumb movie super fun. it looks great too and along with them all playing to their strengths to make the audience have a ball as they watch. not as good as the first film, not soderbergh's most original work nor his best, but i defy you not to have a good time with this silly, stupid yet highly enjoyable caper flick. production design: 9 out of 10 cinematography: 8 out of 10 re-playability: 7 out of 10 originality: 6 out of 10 costumes: 8 out of 10 directing: 7 out of 10 editing: 8 out of 10 acting: 8 out of 10 music: 8 out of 10 script: 5 out of 10 74/100
