as i go through steven soderbergh's filmography there are one or two titles that i just don't want to watch. one of them was ocean's thirteen. i saw this movie when it was released in theatres and i didn't like it. it was boring, rehashed and just more of the same. i'm not sure what i was thinking then cause this time around i actually liked the film. it was very much like the first two, but closer in tone and style to the first than the second. it involved a revenge hiest/plot and it featured all the great actors that made the first and second film. yeah, the ladies were missing from this... read more

Finally forced myself to see this one. I mean... you know me, I never liked Ocean's remake and its sequel. To say the least... So... I didn't really expect anything good here. And yet... it ended up being my most favorite movie in trilogy.

Why? Well, it's hard to say. I mean, TECHNICALLY, it's just more of exactly the same. But somehow, this movie is less... pretentious, less glamorous. And it helps. A lot. The movie does less "look at our epic cast!" thing and more "funny robbery". In other words, it's less about the popular actors and more about the excitement.
