such a fun, campy but also touching film
the island's overall design doesn't look utter cheesy color design wise unlike the earlier films. has the best cinematography overall out of the trilogy despite stand out moments in the others (glass scene in lost world, the escape in the original)
it also has the most shocking, disgusting but fun set pieces such as the skeleton scene and while my favorite character (malcolm) isn't here it makes up with the wonderful cast playing off each other's talent.
the infamous alan scene is mad underrated since it's a reflection of post traumatic stress disorder after the events of the first film which also gets reflected in a touching scene based on his former love of dinosaurs turned pain and suffering.
the way he got dragged into living this nightmare again is done in part by william h. macy using the idea that he's rich and successful he can force others to do his shady bidding, movie was made in 2001 but it's perfect casting all this time later after the collage bribes.
the length of this movie doesn't wear out it's welcome leading into a faster pace and less padding moments. i would rather watch something like this with fun action but real heart than a promotion for upcoming movies any day of the week but that is the state of modern blockbuster film directing.
the ending really lands to the point where i feel like i have closure, i know jurassic world now exists but from an artistic stand point, i sure miss these half schlock half high budget movies where you care about both the cast along with the plot.
