Comedy, Drama

An affectionate and refreshing East/West-Germany comedy about a boy whose mother was in a coma while the Berlin wall fell and when she wakes up he must try to keep her from learning what happened (as she was an avid communist supporter) to avoid shocking her which could lead to another heart attack.

i have seen and read about germany from 1910-45 but somehow never looked for what the post war divided germany was like. there could be a number of reasons behind that but the important thing here is i will try to learn more in the future. the movie itself was fairly ordinary but definitely had a few moments, daniel brühl was good and this was a bit overlong too. 7/10 r/365movies | cw 5 - foreign language | #2 read more

contrived but nicely acted and narrated. beyond the comedic family hijinks it's an utopic look at the fall of the wall... definitely worth a watch. read more
